 Jury Selection

A case may not often be won in jury selection, but too often it is lost there. All too often lawyers seat one or more jurors with whom they cannot win because the juror has an experience, a world view or a bias that was not discovered in voir dire.

Focus Groups / Mock Trials

Attorneys most often spend months if not years working on a case before it comes to trial.  During that time, they spend countless hours talking with other attorneys and consulting with experts about the issues in their case.

Witness Preparation

In many social science surveys in which people are asked to name their number one fear, the number one answer is “public speaking.”Even more than death or poisonous snakes, many people fear speaking in front of others.

Case Strategy

Not every case merits pretrial research or the presence of a consultant in court.  Denise will review key pleadings and depositions, and consult with attorneys either in person or by teleconference.

Courtroom Observation

When attorneys want another set of eyes and ears in the courtroom to observe a key witness or listen to both parties opening statements Denise will be present in court to observe key parts of the trial.

Community / Venue Studies

Denise associates the best social scientists and statisticians in the U.S. with expertise in venue issues to assist in these research efforts, and expert testimony, if required.
